Shisuku Tsukishima (Youko Honna) is a Junior High School student. Reading is her favourite hobby. One day while looking through the check out cards, she finds out that each book she takes from the library had previously been checked out by someone called Seiji Amasawa (Kazuo Takahashi). Once when she returns to school to take a book she's left back, she finds a boy her age reading it. He's been going through the lyrics of the song she's written for her graduation. His comments about the lines leave her more irritated. Next morning Shisuku is taking lunch for her father and on the way she comes across an antique shop, run by Baron Humbert (Shigeru Tsuyuguchi). She thinks the place is a golden pot of fairy tales. Rushing out from there she forgets the lunch. The same boy from school brings it to her and this time irritates her by mis-singing her song. Next day in school he admits that he took all those books only to get her attention. She decides to test her potential at writing and now she too has an aim in life.
