While serving in Afghanistan, Captain Cody Cullen (John Newton) receives a card sent by Faith Spelman (Alice Evans) in a "Dear Service Member" type of program. He is touched by the card, and keeps it with him constantly, finding that it gives him strength and courage when he needs it the most. Cody soon finds himself falling in love with this woman that he is never met. When he is granted leave, he decides to go to California to try to find Faith. Faith's parents take Cody in, and give him a job at their lumber mill in exchange for free room and board. Faith and Cody find themselves falling for one another. Will their new relationship find a way to grow amidst everything going on?
